Gympie christens new synthetic grass courts

Warren Arnell and his group of volunteer helpers had big smiles on their faces when they welcomed everyone to the Gympie Seniors tournament on the weekend of March 23-25.  Proudly on display was their four new synthetic grass courts surrounded by an impressive poly-coated chain wire fence.

Of course it rained right on cue on Friday night and Saturday morning, resulting in several events being abandoned.  But not those on the new courts, where play was hardly interrupted.  Four down, another eight courts to go!
