been finalised and
players are
requested to book
and pay direct.

Qld Teams selected for
2017 Australian Teams
Carnival, Adelaide

There will be 18
teams representing
Queensland
at the
Australian teams
Carnival to be
played in Adelaide
from 9 - 13
January, 2017.
Those teams have
now been
announced.
With the passing
of Col in November
2014, Gympie
Seniors held a
memorial tennis
day in 2015. Last
year's event was a
such a huge
success, we are
looking forward to
yet another such
day this year. It
will be held on
Sunday, October 16
at Queens Park
tennis centre in
Gympie. To cater
for inclement
weather, we have
kept Sunday,
October 23 free
just in case.
TSQ President Gail
Bates has
negotiated a deal
on Yonex tennis
shoes on behalf of
Tennis Seniors.
The shoes are the
same as those worn
by Stan Warwinka,
but there are no
guarantees that
they will make
your backhand as
good as his.

General Meeting
will be held at:
Queensland Tennis
Centre, 190 King
Arthur Terrace,
Tennyson on Monday
5th September,
2016 at 6.30pm.
Nomination forms
are now available
for those players
wishing to be part
of the Queensland
representative
team at the
Australian teams
Carnival to be
played in Adelaide
from 9 - 13
January, 2017.
Closing date for
nominations is 15
October, 2016 and
teams will be
announced in
November.
Compete in tennis
at the 2016
Jupiters Pan
Pacific Masters
Games on the
beautiful Gold
Coast. Entries are
now open! Tennis
will be held at
Gold Coast Seniors
Tennis Club on
Saturday 5 –
Friday 11 November
2016 with the
minimum age for
competition set at
35 years of age.
The Toowoomba & District Veterans Tournament will be held over 1-3 October at Cnr. James & Water Streets, Toowoomba.
Entries are now open and close on 25th September, 2016.
The Sunshine Coast Seniors Championships will be held over 16-19 September at the
Tewantin Tennis Club, Sports Complex, McKinnon Drive, Tewantin.
Entries close on 31st August, 2016.
The Brisbane Seniors Tournament will be held over 12-14 August at Redlands Lawn
Tennis Association, Cnr Long & Smith Street, Cleveland. Entries are now open
and close on 29th July, 2016.
Dawson Callide Valley Seniors
welcomed 62 players to their tournament
last week-end. They also "Celebrated 30
years of tennis". President Stewart
Anderson cut the cake along with Clarice
White (Secretary) and Louise Blomfield
(Treasurer). Stewart has been President
for those 30 years, congratulations and
well done Biloela.
The Mooloolaba Seniors Tournament will
be held over 15-17 July at 112 Lady
Musgrave Drive, Mountain Creek Entries are now open and
close on 5th July, 2016.
The Tennis Seniors Queensland
Chapionshiups will
be held over 1-4 July at Gold Coast
Seniors Tennis Club and Miami Tennis
Club. Entries are now open and
close on 15th June, 2016.
The Hervey Bay Seniors Tournament will
be held over 10-12 June at the courts at
79 Colyton Street, Torquay Hervey Bay. Entries are now open and
close on 3rd June, 2016.
The Dawson Callide Valley Seniors Tournamnet will
be held over 21-22 May at the Callide
Valley Courts in Biloela. Entries are now open and
close on 14th May, 2016.
The Gold Coast Seniors Tournamnet will
be held over 30-Apr to 2-May at the Gold
Coast Seniors Tennis Club at Mermaid
Waters. Entries are now open and
close on Thursday 21st April, 2016.
The Sunshine Coast Veterans Tournament will be conducted at Nambour, Palmwoods and Yandina
tennis centres over 15-17 April. Closing date is 9 April.
This is a TSA National Ranking Tournament Grade 6.

Tennyson Championships to be held from 1
- 4 April at the Queensland Tennis
Centre, Tennyson. Closing date for
entries is 16 March
Queensland wins the Team Trophy at the Australian
Championships

Queensland has won the Teams Event at
the recent Australian Championships in
Shepparton. Yes it was close, albeit by
0.12% from ACT, 55.70 to 55.58.
Congratulations and well done to all the
Queenslanders who participated and thank
you also to all the players from the
other states and New Zealand for making
it such an enjoyable week.
