published his Annual
President's Report,
describing all of the
significant events
over the past year and
the state of seniors
tennis in Queensland.
The United Cup team are excited to launch the Summer of Tennis in Brisbane
with the 2023 United Cup (formerly Brisbane Tennis) at the Queensland Tennis Centre,
Tennyson from 29 December 2022 through to 4 January 2023. Tennis Seniors Queensland members
are eligible to receive $10 off their tickets to the United Cup by using the code UintedQLD.

Teams Carnival in Swan
Hill should check out

schedule as well as
booking tickets to the
Opening Ceremony and
Teams Dinner.
The Queensland Team
Dinner will be held
Monday 9th January at
the Swan Hill Club

to players this week).
2023 Queensland Teams for Australian Teams Carnival in Swan Hill

The Queensland Teams for the Australian Teams Carnvial in Swan Hill, Victoria
have now been released. Each team will have been assigned a
court and
practice times for the Sunday preceding the Carnival.

Fact sheets for the 2023 ITF World Championships (30, 35, 40, 45, 50)

The 2023 ITF World Tennis Masters Tour 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 Team Championships will
take place in Manavgat, Antalya, Turkey on Sunday 19 March to Friday 24 March 2023.
Fact sheets have been released by the ITF and are now
available.
A reminder that TSA entries close at 8pm on 30 November via
CAT 92 Tennis.
The Tennis Seniors Queensland AGM will be
held at Queensland Tennis Centre, 190 King Arthur Terrace,
Tennyson on Wednesday 7th December 2022 at 5:00pm.
All members are welcome to attend but only nominated delegates
for Affiliated Clubs are allowed to vote.

Tennis West will be running the 2022 State Seniors' Championships this year at the
iconic Royal Kings Park Tennis
Club during the period from Thursday 15th to Sunday 18th December 2022.
Entries are now open and
close 4th December.
The TSA Executive is pleased to announce that the new TA/TSA Selection
Policy for our Australian Representative teams is now available.
Nominations for 30-50 age groups will open Tuesday 25/10/2022 and close 30/11/2022 at 8 pm.

The 2022 Murgon Seniors
Tournament has been
postponed for a week
due to the forecast
inclement weather. It
will still be
played at the Gore Street
courts but over the 28-30
October. Entries have reopened until midnight Tuesday 25 October.
All participating players will be officially advised by email
by Tournament Director Dianne Zelinski. Please advise Dianne if you
are unable to compete on the changed dates. If you had not
originally entered and are available 28-30 October please
submit an entry.

notified Gali Bates
that the MT400
- Ipswich
tournament has
received the 2022
Tournament Recognition
Award as part of the
ITF World Tennis
Masters Tour. The
award recognises
tournaments in 2022
that deliver fantastic
events and receive
high player
satisfactions rates.
Gail wishes to thank
all those who helped
make the event what it
was, with special
thanks to John Bolton
from the Ipswich City
Council.
Masters Games Organisers are busy planning the next version of Australia’s premier, multi-sport Games,
AMG Adelaide 2023. They are expecting over 10,000 participants from all over the world with
what is looking like over 50 different sports on offer. Stay tuned for updates on the new and exciting additions
in the Games for the AMG XIX version.
The ITF have announced the dates and venues for the 2023 World Championships. The process for players to be selected and closing dates
will be available within the coming weeks.
The 2022 Roma
Seniors Tournament will be held at
the Roma & District
Tennis Club, Arthur
Street, Roma over
10-11 September. Entries
are now open and
will close on 5th
September.
Nominations are
being called for
the 2023 Australian
Teams Carnival. In
the 30-70 age
groups, teams may
consist of 5-6
players and in age
groups 75+ and
above up to 7
players.
Nominations close
on 21 October.
Teams will be
announced in
November.
The TSQ
SUNSHINE COAST CHAMPIONSHIPS
(ITF Masters Tour -
MT400) will be held
at the Tewantin
Tennis Club between
16 - 20 September.
Entries are now
open and will close
on 6th September.
The 2022 Brisbane
Seniors Tournament will be held at
the Cleveland and
Wynnum
Tennis Centres over
20-21 August. Entries
are now open and
will close on 15th
August.
The 2022 Yeppoon
Seniors Tournament will be held at
the Yeppoon
Tennis Centre
(Chrisney Street) over
27-28 August. Entries
are now open and
will close on 21st
August.
The University of
Queensland Open
Tennis Champonships
will be conducted
over three weekends
between 13 - 31
July at UQ Sport Tennis Centre, Blair Drive, St Lucia.

Tennis Seniors Australia (TSA) is pleased to announce that the TSQ State Championships on the
Gold Coast (30 June – 4 July 2022) has been upgraded by the ITF from a
700 to a 1000. Tennis Australia (TA) worked with ITF Seniors and the
ITF Seniors Committee on a proposal to upgrade this tournament - on a
one-off basis - to give Australian players an opportunity in 2022 to
compete for increased points.

Tennis Seniors Australia (TSA) is calling for expressions of interest to fill
the vacant position of Secretary on the Association’s Executive Committee.
The Secretary position is a key one on the Executive, ensuring the effective
administration of the organisation with duties involving the convening and
recording of meetings, maintaining records, correspondence and other duties
supporting TSA’s activities and responsibilities. TSA is keen to attract
applicants with strong computer literacy and skills.
A nominal allowance may be paid, depending on the extent of duties agreed.
Tennis Seniors Australia has just released its annual report on its activities
for the year 2021 and the financial results for the year ended 30 Sep 2021.

Tournament will be held

TSQ are very sad to inform you of the unexpected passing of 84yo Ron Hambleton on 1st February.
Ron was a lovely man who well known and well liked in the Seniors Tennis world.
Since 1984, he represented Queensland 19 times at the Australian Teams Carnival.
He also represented Australia twice at World ITF Teams Championships (2103, 2017).
TSQ Executive wish to extend our condolences to Joy, family and friends at this sad time.
Ron’s Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Thursday 10th February at the St. Peter Chanel Church, The Gap.
Covid rules will limit the capacity of the Church to 150 people wearing masks at all times.
Geoff Arnell comes from
a distinguished line of
recipients of this
award, with father Colin
in 2004 and brother
Warren in 2011. Geoff
has been a stalwart for
Seniors Tennis in
Queensland, having been
the President of the
Hervey Bay & District
Tennis Association for
the past 12 years.Geoff
is also a Tennis
Australia referee and
recently received the
Tennis Queensland 2021
Excellence in
Officiating Award.
The 2022
Chinchilla Seniors
Tournament will be held
19-20 February
at the Boyd Street
Courts, Chinchilla.
Closing date is 12

The 2022 Tennis Seniors Queensland Claycourt Championships will be held
2 - 5 April
at the George ElderTennis Centre, Ipswich.
Closing date is 29 March, 2022. Entry forms are now available.
